Evangelist Doris Neal
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Stone Springfield AME Church, Louisville and Mt. Pleasant CME Cemetery, Bartow
Evangelist Neal was a native of Jefferson County, the daughter of the late Mark Samuel and Ella Mae Daniels Snell. She was educated in the Jefferson County School system and for many years worked and Jefferson County Shirt Company and later the Jefferson County Schools as a paraprofessional. She joined the Adams Chapel Church of God in Christ and served faithfully for over thirty years as church secretary. She was an ordained and licensed Evangelist that took the time to spread the word in the community and in many homes. She was one of the founders of The Holy Temple located in Wrens, GA that is responsible for many of ministers in the Jefferson County area.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Lewis Neal, Sr. of Louisville; her children, Mary Elizabeth Purdis of Hephzibah, GA, Robert Lewis (Cynthia) Neal, Jr., Ronnie Neal of Louisville and one step son, Willie E. Fields of Warner Robins, GA; sixteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren; brother-in-law, L. W. (Katie) Sherrod of Louisville; sister-in-law, Maxie Snell of Macon, GA; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
